This workshop helps participants talk more openly and confidently with young people about contraception as part of their Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) curriculum. When young people are provided with correct, honest, and up-to-date information about contraception they are more able to make informed choices and have safer and healthier sexual lives.
By the end of the workshop participants will be able to:
Outline concerns young people may have about using contraception (including condoms);
Explain the main methods of contraception used by young people and the key advantages and disadvantages of these from the perspective of young people;
Identify a range of tools, resources and teaching plans to support your delivery of lessons/sessions; and
Inform young people how to access local contraception and sexual health services.
